Tendency of Selection of Curriculum and Learning Services for Diploma Students at UTM Kuala Lumpur

The purpose of this study was to identify in detail the service-learning co-curriculum (CSL) curriculum and the potential of choosing a course based on the perspectives of diploma students at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (UTMKL). The importance of the curriculum is very important in strengthening the softness of an excellent student. The study involved 406 respondents from 1,904 diploma student population of UTMKL. The data were collected through the questionnaire form distributed to UTMKL diploma students. The analysis showed that there are different types of co-curriculum divided into four (4) clusters each identified for the first objective. The second objective is to identify students' interest in the choice of CSL courses. It is found that volunteer-based courses have the highest inclination. While the archery course scores from the sports, recreation and culture clusters recorded the highest student achievement scores. In conclusion, although the total respondent only 21.32% of the population responded to this study, it could provide an indication of the tendency to choose CSL courses based on UTMKL diploma students' perceptions. The results of this study can be used in planning CSL course offerings according to students' preferences and preferences.
