Analysis about Random Failure Indicator for Relay Protection

This paper puts forward a random failure indicator of relay protection, and describes the reliability of relay protection through exponential function. At the same time, the reliability model is modified and improved on the basis of actual structure. Also, a reliability function of relay protection random failure is constructed, and a method of calculating random failure reliability is proposed. Then, status of relay protection devices from some pilot substations in one region is evaluated by using the above method. The result shows that the random failure reliability of the relay protection equipment can be calculated by the method and the calculation result can actually reflect the equipment status.
