Arreglo espacial del algodonero cv NuOpal (BGRR) bajo las condiciones edafoclimáticas del nordeste del departamento de Itapúa Spatial arrangement of cotton variety NuOpal (BGRR) under soil and climatic conditions of northern Itapúa

2013
In the experimental farm of the Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias y Forestalesde of the Universidad Nacional de Itapua, Natalio headquarters, a research was conducted with the objective of studying the response of transgenic cotton variety NuOpal (BGRR) seeded at different row spacing and distance between plant, from November 2012 to April 2013. The studied treatments were arranged in a split plot, were main plot being the distance between plants (10 and 20 cm) and subplots row spacing (38, 50, 75 and 100 cm) in a complete block design with four replications. The variables evaluated were: beginning of flowering, plant height, stem diameter, number of fruiting branches, number of ball, number of seed cotton, weight of seed cotton and seed cotton yield per plant. Data was analyzed using ANAVA and the variables with significant differences were adjusted by regression equations. Significant differences were observed for all variables except the beginning of flowering. The best yields were observed when distance between plants were 20 cm (3,394 kg/ha) and 38 cm between rows (3,580 kg/ha), decreasing linearly with increasing row spacing.
