Brechas de género en el curso de vida y sus repercusiones en la vejez: una aproximación para repensar las políticas públicas de atención a las personas mayores en México

The objective is to know the gender gaps in the life of rural elderly people and their impact on old age. The methodology is qualitative, the study analyzes the life stories of 15 rural elderly people (9 women and 6 men), in Mexico. The results show that from an early age there are gender differences resulting in interdependent gaps and inequalities that affect the entire course of life, with accentuated effects on old age.
