Strategic Research for South East Europe in Area of Embedded Systems and Industrial Informatics

Abstract The region has a potential to reach the level of the EU in R&D by focusing its resources on key application areas that are allied with Europe-wide strategies. This in particular applies to the sectors of industrial informatics and embedded systems. This paper presents research directions which have been identified by the investigation of I3E project1which aims to strengthen the SEE region in the areas of embedded systems and industrial informatics. Key application areas are highlighted and research priorities are defined.
