Broadband patch antenna possessing ground radiation mode

2015
A broadband patch antenna possessing a ground radiation mode relates to the broadband patch antenna. A dielectric substrate is arranged. The dielectric substrate is a cuboid. A front surface, a rear surface and a lower surface of the dielectric substrate are connected grounds which are coated with metal layers. A rear portion of an upper surface of the dielectric substrate is provided with a rectangular patch which is connected to the rear surface. A front portion of the upper surface of the dielectric substrate is provided with a radiation patch. Gaps are arranged between the radiation patch and the rectangular patch of the rear portion of the upper surface of the dielectric substrate, and between the radiation patch and the front surface. Gaps with the same width are arranged between the radiation patch and the rectangular patch of the rear portion of an upper surface of the dielectric substrate, and between the radiation patch and two side surfaces of the dielectric substrate. Simultaneously, an antenna structure possesses an antenna element radiation mode and a ground plane radiation mode. The antenna structure is simple and miniaturized. A relative bandwidth at a power frequency reaches above 17%.
