ÇALIŞANLARIN EĞİTİM İHTİYAÇLARINI KARŞILAMAYA YÖNELİK LİSANSÜSTÜ EĞİTİM MODELİ: MESLEKİ BİLİM UZMANLIĞI

Today financial crises and technological developments are pushing educational systems to respond societies’ needs to educate skilled workforce to keep their development. Shift in educational systems are being observed in any stages. Thus, higher education institutions are not exceptions and they indeed also seek ways to update traditional programs and find alternative programs to increase their effectives to contribute to their society. In this regard, existing traditional graduate programs are realized to be in short of equipping workforce to fulfill the requirements of changing world. This inadequacy is especially critical for employees who are in need for professional development that can be provided through graduate education opportunities. So, higher education institutions look for alternative degrees to help individuals who are in workforce to respond their needs and equip them with necessary skills through these programs. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a program that can remedy this problem. This paper provides a brief history and specific examples of Professional Science Master’s degree programs that can support higher education institutions that are in demand for higher education reform.
