Experience of accidentally injured patients participating cognitive-behavioral group intervention: a qualitative study

Objective To understand the experience of accidentally injured patients participating in cognitive-behavioral group intervention, so as to provide empirical evidence for optimizing the psychological intervention program and fulfill more patients' needs. Methods Using the method of phenomenological study, semi-structured interview was conducted on 10 cases of accidentally injured patients participating in cognitive-behavioral group intervention selected by purposive sampling method. Results The main experience of these accidentally injured patients participating in cognitive-behavioral group intervention was positive oriented mood, including more experience happiness, harvest emotional feelings, changed the focus of attention; and seeking their own growth, including recognition of self-value, adjusting coping strategies, and cherishing interpersonal benefits. Conclusions Accidentally injured patients reported a rich and deep feeling and experience after participating cognitive-behavioral group intervention, which provides valuable basis for optimizing the psychological intervention program of posttraumatic patients.
