Device for Automatic Control of the Petersen Coil

This paper presents an automatic adjustment system for a grounding (Petersen) coil used in a medium voltage network (MVN). The steps required for this adjustment, in the moment of the fault occurrence, are presented for both possible functioning situations of the MVN, (undercompensated or overcompensated).
