Primary moult in the Collared Dove

Due to the Collared Dove's extended breeding season, moulting birds may be found in all months. Young birds from late broods often arrest their post-juvenile moult over the midwinter period, and these birds may moult again later in the same year, in line with the moult schedule for adults.
