Genetics of Reproduction

The preservation of a species depends upon its ability to produce and to nurture offspring. Since the Renaissance, scientists have examined the myriad of systems which buffer the individual members, and families, of the diversity of living creatures from a threatening environment1. Each species has evolved in the face of specific pressures placed upon it2, and modifications of the mode of reproduction have been subject to the same selection3.
