Charge exchange ($sup 6$Li, $sup 6$He) and the two-step pickup--stripping ($sup 6$Li, $sup 7$Li)($sup 7$Li, $sup 6$He) excitation mode

The single-step forbidden analog 0/sup +/ yields 0/sup +/ transition has been observed in /sup (6/Li,/sup 6/He) on /sup 18/O and /sup 26/Mg. The cross section and the observed L = 1 shape of the angular distribution for the / sup 26/Mg yields /sup 26/Al/sub 0+,T=1/ transition is analyzed in terms of a single-nucleon pickup-stripping two-step process in the second order DWBA. There are indications that the single step allowed /sup (6/Li,/sup 6/He) charge exchange transitions contain large two step contributions as well. (auth)
