Dialogues in Art Design: Promoting and Sharing Excellence

Dialogues in Art and Design accompanys the Group for Learning in Art and Design Annual Conference 2009. The book contains 48 papers from authors based in the Centres of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs) most closely associated with art, design and media subject. The book has an introduction by the editor discussing recent enhancement initiatives in art, and design education, from the 1989 Computers in Teaching Initiative to the start of the CETLs in 2005 . Dialogues in Art and Design was available in advance of the conference to enable delegates to use the papers to trigger debates. The papers are organised under three principal themes: Learning Teaching and the Studio; Strategies, Tactics and Change and; Learning Spaces and Learning Technologies, a short paper by the editor discussing the general context of the group of papers introduces each theme.
Dialogues in Art and Design offers a unique insight in to the range of work being undertaken in the CETLs embedded in art, design and media subject and also how the pedagogies of these subjects are being transferred to other subjects and disciplines.
