The Human Placental Lactogen and Growth Hormone Multi-Gene Family

1988
The central problem of molecular biology is the understanding of how the genetic information coded in the nucleic acid is expressed and, what are the mechanisms that regulate such expression. Much progess has been made in understanding gene regulation in prokaryotic systems, however, in eukaryotic organisms, the advances have been much slower and much more recent. This is closely related in part to the degree of evolutionary complexity of the eukaryotic cell.
