2008
Oxymerus aculeatus Dupont 1838 is recorded for first time, particularly the subspecies O. a. lebasi Dupont 1838, be- ing also the first record of tribe Trachiderini from Cuba. Its known-to-date distribution in Cuba covers some places of Havana province, outlying areas of Havana City and in Villa Clara province (no specific data). In those places it inhabits mainly in grass- lands having some infestation with Acacia farnesiana, ruderal vegetation along roads and mangrove forests. Specimens of this species have been observed and/or collected since 2003, being evidence that its populations are well established. This species has been found breeding on Conocarpus erectus, Solanum erianthum and Albizzia procera dead wood.
