Supracondylar Fracture of Humerus with Nerve Injury:A Clinical Report of 64 Cases

1989
Sixty-four cases of supracondylar fracture of the humerus with nerve injury were reported. They included 33 cases of the median nerve injury.29 radial and 2 ulnar.60 cases were treated by close reduction, and 4 by open.We found that the nerves were compressed by the bony fragments and the adhesive scars.63 cases, after open or close reduction, obtained good and fair results in an average of 23.5 months following up.We suggest that in most cases, open reduction would be unnecessary if a close reduction can be achieved.
