1P-463: Study on synthesis and analysis of polyvinylpyrrolidone modified Pt/RGO@ nanocomposites for fuel cells

2016
In my work, Pt/RGO@PVP nanocomposites were prepared by a facile chemical method. Surfactant was used as a stabilizer to prevent metal nanoparticles from aggregation and improve deposition of nanoparticles onto the carbon materials. Also, polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) plays an important role in controlling the size of Pt nanoparticles as well as their stability. These result that Pt/RGO@PVP nanocomposites exhibited not only excellent electrocatalytic active but also long-term stability for the oxidation of methanol in the DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cells). In addition, Platinum nanoparticles well deposited on the surface of the resultant without aggregation of among noble metal catalyst compared to pure graphene oxide. The structure, morphology and composition of Pt/RGO@PVP nanocomposites were measured by SEM, TEM and FT-IR. Also, the electrocatalytic properties of Pt/RGO@PVP nanocomposites were evaluated by CV and CA.
