Study of quantum states maximal localization in nonsymmetrical semiconductor superlattice structures

Methods for obtaining maximally localised quantum states in semiconductor superlattice non-symmetrical structures applied to building quantum cascade lasers are presented in the paper. Numerical research has been based on the infinite superlattice model with Blochfunction and Wannier functions properties are widely used. A few ways to compute maximally localised quantum states are demonstrated, their effect on the computed results shown, and criteria for their selection discussed.
