Radon and its decay products in water purification plants

Abstract The activity concentration of 222 Rn and 222 Rn decay products in the air of rooms in water purification plants was measured. The annual radiation exposure, based on the measured values, was calculated for the different plants and was between 1-40 WLM. A maximum value of 222 Rn activity concentration of approximately 1 MBq/m 3 in indoor air was measured in one of the plants.
