Metabolic Studies on Mammary Tumor MTW9 following Resection of the Mammosomatotropic Tumor MtTW5

1971
The regression of mammary tumor MTW9 after resection of mammosomatotropic tumor MtTW5 has been studied further. Twenty-four hr after resection of MtTW5, MTW9 DNA was increased while incorporation of thymidine-3H into MTW9 was decreased. Uptake of α-aminoisobutyric acid, glycine, methionine, and possibly phenylalanine into the trichloroacetic acid-soluble fraction of MTW9 slices was reduced 24 hr after MtTW5 resection. Incorporation of glycine, methionine, and phenylalanine into MTW9 protein was also reduced under these conditions.
