Cabin John Bridge—A Washington Landmark

1973
After many years as an esthetic and cultural amenity to the Nation's Capitol, Cabin John Bridge is now being registered and commemorated for its role as an engineering and planning element. Its present utility to the Washington Water System and 20th Century traffic is in question. Keeping the bridge in place, and solving changing engineering problems with an enlightened and enhancing preservation program, will be the supreme test of our dedication to National Landmarks.
