Impulse response functions (IRFs) have been largely used in experimental modal analysis in order to extract themodal parameters (natural frequencies, damping factors andmodal forms) in different areas. IRFs occupy a prominent place in applications of aeronautical, machinery and automobile industries, mainly when the system has coupled modes. Additionally, IRFs have practical advantages for use in control theory for many reasons, e.g.:
