Numerical studies on phase separation in binary mixtures

Abstract We numerically study on a phenomenological point of view (transient patterns dynamics) and on a more quantitative one (time scale laws at late stages), the dynamical behavior of binary mixtures described with the help of the Cahn-Hilliard nonlinear partial derivative equation. We show the characteristic trends of the nucleation and growth and spinodal decomposition processes. We calculate the pair correlation function of the demixing systems and analyse the time scale laws at the late stage.
