Control device for vehicle
2008
A control device for a vehicle, which can minimize the occurrence of engagement failure and shock of an engagement element for lock-up. This is achieved without involving an increase in the size of an electric pump and an increase in energy consumption. The control device is adapted such that it can engage the engaging element (LC), adapted for lock-up, of a fluid coupling (14) by supplying to the engaging element (LC) hydraulic oil discharged from an electrically driven pump (EP). The device has condition detection means (35) and control means. The condition detection means (35) detects conditions of one or more factors that affect discharge performance of the pump (EP). The control means is adapted such that, when the result of detection by the condition detection means (35) satisfies apredetermined first condition that defines the one or more factors affecting the discharge performance of the pump (EP), the control means performs a first control mode that permits engagement of theengaging element (LC) and, when the result does not satisfy the first condition, the control means performs a second control mode that prohibits engagement of the engaging element (LC).
