2008
The effect of automobile pollution on the physical and biochemical aspect of Cassia fistula leaves was studied. The leaf wash pHand pH of cell sap was found to be reduced. The photosynthetic pigments and the ascorbic acid content of the leaves facing air pollution also decreased. The harmful effect of auto-exhaust pollutants found decreased with the increase in the distance from the roadsides. Key Word : Leaf wash pH, Cell sap, Photosynthetic pigment, Auto-exhaust pollution
