Impact Factors on the IT Outsourcing Decision A Case Study in the Brazilian Public Sector

This article is an attempt to describe how to understand the strategic decision-making on outsourcing. For this, we conducted a case study in a body of the federal judiciary in the context of the Brazilian public sector and listed the factors that influence this decision throughout five research stages. Empirical research has confirmed some factors that influence the decision to outsource IT, among them strategic, environment, legal and IT vendor-related aspects. Other new factors have emerged, such as the availability factor of the solution, strategic planning and the safety factor.
