Comparison of Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Sintered γ-(Fe-Ni-P) Alloys with Abundant P Doping

2019
The γ-(Fe-Ni-P) alloy with a high phosphorus content was obtained by spark plasma sintering. A supersaturated phosphorus solid solution has been developed and the precipitation of phosphide is suppressed in this γ-(Fe-Ni-P) alloy. This new structure of the γ-(Fe-Ni-P) alloy attains a higher yield strength (1067 MPa) without sacrificing plasticity. Its formation and strengthening mechanism are clarified by a comparison with the alloy obtained via conventional sintering.
