Intercomponent interaction parameters and hydrophobic effects in water-1-alkanol-xenon ternary systems

2004
Intercomponent interaction parameters were determined for the H 2 O-ROH-Xe ternary systems with R = Me, Et, and 1-Pr. They were shown to be interrelated with the pair interaction coefficients calculated according to McMillan and Mayer. The influence of the nature of the alcohol and temperature on the enthalpy and heat capacity characteristics of the binary (water-alcohol and water-xenon) and ternary (water-alcohol-xenon) systems was considered. The temperature dependence of the enthalpy pair interaction coefficient between Xe and ethanol in aqueous solutions was maximum at -314 K.
