Characterization of energetic particle driven modes by spectral analysis in Tore Supra and FTU tokamaks

The behavior of energetic particle driven modes in magnetically confined plasmas is an important issue for ITER, once these modes can affect the transport of the fast particles. This paper presents some data analysis methods suitable for dealing with these modes. These methods are exemplified through the characterization of electron fishbones and Beta-induced Alfven Eigenmodes instabilities in the tokamaks Tore Supra and FTU.
