The Effect of Precursor Concentration on Structural and Optical Properties of Ag-doped ZnO/TiO 2

2019
This work mainly focused on the fabrication of different molarity of precursor concentration for Silver (Ag) doped ZnO/TiO 2 by using spin coating technique for the deposition of TiO 2 seed layer and solution immersion method for the growth of ZnO nanostructure. 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.16, and 0.20M of precursor concentration were varied during the preparation of Zn2+ solution and the influence of different precursor concentration were investigated by using XRD, FESEM, UV-Vis in order to study the structural, morphology and optical properties of the sample. X-ray diffraction pattern indicates that Ag-doped ZnO/TiO 2 thin films obtain good crystallinity at high precursor concentration. FESEM images revealed that all the sample shows the morphology as nanorod and 0.08M of Zn show the smaller diameter with well oriented and densely packed of nanorod. UV-Vis result also indicates 0.08M of Zn shows the highest absorbance compared to other sample which support the FESEM results. Thus, 0.08M was found to be the best sample due to small size of nanorod, high crystallinity and better absorption of Ag-doped ZnO/TiO 2 .
