Synthesis of Silica Coated Fully-inorganic Perovskite with Enhanced Moisture Stability

2019
Despite the many outstanding advantages for perovskite as light-emitting material, its stability issue makes its practical application difficult. We here report on silica-coated cesium lead halide perovskite (Cs4PbBr6) using (3-aminoproly)trimethoxysilane instead of oleylamine to improve moisture stability by hot injection. The synthesized perovskite exhibited the properties of narrow band width (22.4 nm) and emission wavelength (512.9 nm), indicating that it kept the characteristics of the typical CsPbBr3. Furthermore, the emission intensity was maintained to 50% after exposure to artificial condition for 6h from the pristine. The Commission International de I’Eclairage color triangle reached ~115% of the National Television System Committee standard, indicating the high color purity of silica-coated perovskite. We expect that the ligand modification of perovskite can improve the properties of perovskite materials.
