Problems and countermeasures on potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) control in China

Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) is one of the main diseases which threatens the potato production.PSTVd has caused some losses to Chinese potato production.There are some difficulties in controling of this disease.It is difficult to be removed from meristem,and detection for it is not enough.The quality control system of virus-free seed potato is distemperedness and there is not a good supervision on it.From now on,it should pay much attention to PSTVd removing technique,use healthy seed potato to carry out strict isolation system,and consummate seed potato quality control system to insure the potato industry of China to develop healthily and steadily.
