The literature is replete with studies and reviews analyzing the effects of nutritional support on patients with various stages of malignancy and undergoing various forms of treatment. Much uncertainty and conflict seemingly exists. The present discussion is designed to place the known data on nutrition and cancer into a working framework, and to proceed from that to a rational, safe and effective application.
