Alternative and renewable gaseous fuels to improve vehicle environmental performance

Abstract: This chapter reviews the different types of gaseous fuel for vehicles, fuel production and distribution processes, engine/fuel systems and on-board storage options. this is followed by a discussion and comparison of life-cycle energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Finally, the advantages and limitations of each fuel are summarized along with a general discussion of future trends.
