Fair resource allocation for relay aided OFDMA systems under outage constraints

We conceive a fair resource allocation scheme for multiuser multiple relay aided OFDMA networks. We study the optimization problem of subcarrier assignment under outage constraints. The outage constraints are transformed into the power constraints of the relays. A priority based proportional fairness multiuser scheduling approach is employed to achieve the complimentary rate fairness of all users. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better tradeoff between the overall system performance and the fairness among users compared to the maximum sum-rate (MSR) and the round robin (RR) resource allocation schemes.
