Capacitive non-contact angular position sensor

2013
A capacitive non-contact angular position sensor is composed of a casing, a rotating shaft, a metal moving sheet, a substrate printed with a capacitance plate, a signal processing circuit composed of a single chip and the like. The working principle is that capacitance is changed by changing a medium between capacitors through the metal moving sheet, and measurement, calculation and output of the capacitors are controlled by the single chip. The capacitive non-contact angular position sensor is structurally characterized in that one or more capacitance plates are arranged on the same plane or a curve face. The metal moving sheet completely separated from the circuit is fixed on the rotating shaft, and the metal moving sheet is used for changing the capacitance medium of the device. Due to the fact that a movable part of the sensor is not provided with a charged body, non-contact measurement is truly achieved. Indexes of sliding touch, service life, resolution ratio and the like of the sensor are the same as indexes of a grating encoder type angular position sensor, but cost of the sensor is only one half of that of the grating encoder type angular position sensor. The capacitive non-contact angular position sensor is particularly suitable for toning devices and peripheral equipment for game consoles needing manual operations.
