Определение уровней биогенных аминов и родственных соединений в дифференциальной диагностике менингеального симптомокомплекса

2007
Levels of biogenic amines, their precursors and metabolites in the CSF ofpatients with serous meningitis as well as acute respiratoty viral infections with signs of meningism were investigated. Serous meningitis was found to be characterized by increase of CSF levels of aromatic amino acids, serotonin, and MHPG, as well as by decreased DOPA and HVA as compared to patients with acute respiratoty viral infections with signs of meningism. These findings could be considered as elevation in synthesis of corresponding biogenic amines. The elevation of CSF serotonin level wasn't accompanied with any increase in its release and degradation. Shifts in the CSF concentrations of biogenic amines and relative compounds were found to be useful as supplementary criteria for differential diagnosis of meningeal syndrome.
