Polarizer, a polarizing plate and image display device

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer in which coloring is controlled and which is composed of a polyvinyl alcohol film with satisfactory durability even under a high temperature and to provide a polarizing plate using the polarizer and furthermore an image display device using the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The polarizer composed of the polyvinyl alcohol film which is dyed with iodine and treated with potassium iodide has a 0.05 to 0.24 element content ratio (K/I) of iodine (I) and potassium (K).
