EFFECT OF FORTIFICATION OF LEAVES OF TERMINALIA TOMENTOSA WITH SECONDARY NUTRIENTS TO TASAR SILKWORM ANTHERAEA MYLITTA DRURY

2007
Studies on the effect of fortification of leaves of Terminalia tomentosa with different secondary nutrients in different concentrations to tasar silkworm Antheraea mylitta Drury revealed that among the ten treatments under study, fortification of leaves with Magnesium sulphate (2%, w/v) is most effective in improving the commercial characters of cocoons of Antheraea mylitta Drury. Under this treatment larval weight, effective rate of rearing, cocoon weight and silk ratio percent increased by 33.32, 33.33, 31.33 & 31.05 % respectively as compared to control.
