Radiographic visualization of multiple diverticula of the gall bladder; report of three cases.

THE radiographic demonstration of diverticula of the gall bladder is uncommon. However, in a review of 175 post-mortem cases, Robertson and Ferguson1 found that 81 per cent of diseased gall bladders had diverticula, whereas 42 per cent of those without evidence of disease had diverticula that were shallower and fewer in number. The anatomic development of these diverticula and their more frequent occurrence in diseased organs created a controversy in the literature from the time they were first adequately described by Rokitansky,2 in 1842, and by Luschka,3 in 1858.
