Cutter device and printing apparatus

The invention provides a cutter device capable of preventing cutting jam and recutting. A cutter device 20 includes a cutter 37, 38 configured to cut a material P o be cut; a carriage 30 having a cutter 37, 38 and moving in a widthwise direction X with respect to a feeding direction Y of the material P to be cut; and a guide unit 25 configured to guide the carriage 30 in the widthwise direction X and, assuming that the movement of the carriage 30 when the cutter 37, 38 cuts the material P to be cut is an outward route, a homeward route of the cutter 37, 38 of the carriage 30 is different from the outward route of the cutter 37, 38, and is shifted from the outward route toward one material P3 to be cut which moves first in the direction away from the other material P4 to be cut in the feeding direction Y immediately after the cutting from between the materials to be cut divided into two parts P3, P4.
