Integration of clinical practice, research, innovation, and education

2017
Development of successful modern aortic programs requires significant integration of clinical practice, research, innovation, and education. Collaboration between multiple specialties, engineers, and industry is needed to identify areas of clinical need based on assessment of institutional and reported experiences. Improvements in a treatment modality or a particular device are only possible with collaboration of a dedicated team. This is well illustrated by the experience and legacy of Roy Greenberg. This chapter summarizes the evolution of Dr. Greenberg’s experience at the Cleveland Clinic and how his legacy affected development of aortic programs worldwide.
