Nonfactorizable chiral enhancement of penguin amplitude in anti-B meson decays
1993
The one-loop chiral corrections for decay processes of a [ital [bar B]] meson into two charmed mesons are studied in the framework of heavy hadron chiral theory. Because of different nonfactorizable chiral corrections, a larger enhancement factor of penguin amplitudes over that of related tree diagram ones is found. This results in a more optimistic prediction for the feasibility of observing [ital CP]-violating asymmetry in the decay process [ital [bar B]][sub [ital d]][r arrow][ital D][sup (*)+][ital D(*)[minus]]. Problems on the validity of the factorization hypothesis in other [ital [bar B]] decay modes are also discussed.
