Synthesis and Biological Activities of Organics Assisted Pd Doped ZnO Nanoparticles Through Novel Solution Processing Routes

2013
Organics assisted ZnO nanoparticles doped with Pd (1 - 5 × 10 -7 mmol) were synthesized using novel solution processing routes. In situ surface modification was carried out by using gluconic acid as a modifier to assist the nanoparticles synthesis. A systematic characterization using powder X-ray diffraction method (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultra violet visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS), Scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM), Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) surface area, particle size distribution, cytotoxicity and genotoxicity, has been carried out in detail. The cytotoxic and genotoxic impacts of nanoparticles on the root tip cells of Allium cepa have been investigated.
