The Research Progress on the Active Ingredient of the Oil of Tea Seed in Medicine Industry

The oil of tea seed is used extensively as cooking oil, which has suitable nutritional properties and has been regarded as emperor oil. The tea seed oil has been cultivated a wide array of therapeutic properties for more than 1000 years. Through systematical review of previous literatures,found that the potential beneficial properties of the oils are not only dependent on the polyunsaturated fatty acids, but also another number of active ingredients. The biochemical ingredient and their biological activities of tea seed oil were discussed to deeply understand chemical nature and potential use fields of tea seed oil in medicine industry.
