Empatía y rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios

Empathy is important for peaceful coexistence, it is believed that it is associated with academic performance, for this reason it is intended to correlate the level of empathy with the academic performance of students in the Primary Education Specialty, Faculty of Education Sciences, National Hermilio University Valdizan, Huanuco, Peru. A descriptive correlational study was carried out, the documentary analysis technique was used to collect information on the students' qualifications and the survey to collect information on empathy, using the Interpersonal Reactivity Index questionnaire. The relationship between the variables was determined using the Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. The results showed a non-significant correlation between empathy and level of academic performance, showing that the university does not contribute to developing empathy, if it were so, the students with the highest scores would have better levels of empathy.
