Flow injection analysis of ciprofloxacin by terbium sensitized chemiluminescence method

2005
A new flow injection chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of Ciprofloxacin (CPLX) was described. The method was based on the weak CL reaction of Ce(Ⅳ)-SO~(2-)_3 sensitized by Tb~(3+)-CPLX. The relative CL intensity was linear with the concentration of CPLX in the range of 9.0×10~(-9)-1.0×10~(-6) mol·L~(-1). The detection limit is 2.2×10~(-11) mol·L~(-1). The relative standard deviation (RSD) for the determination of 5.0×10~(-8) mol·L~(-1) CPLX is 3.0% (n=11). The method has been successfully applied to the analysis of CPLX in tablet and capsule. An original mechanism was proposed to explain this phenomenon.
