LDA measurement of tangential and axial velocity profiles within swirl pressure-jet nozzles

1987
Flow fields were measured within scaled-up plexiglass models of pressure-jet nozzles with the use of Laser-Doppler-Anemometry. The most significant items of interest were the tangential and axial velocity profiles for a variety of Reynolds numbers and swirl intensities in spill-controlled nozzles. The orifice film properties are of particular relevance for the subsequent disintegration of the fluid emission and hence for the final droplet distribution curves.Flow fields were measured within scaled-up plexiglass models of pressure-jet nozzles with the use of Laser-Doppler-Anemometry.
