Isokinetics in Rehabilitation

2001
The hallmark of success in orthopaedic surgery is the quantification of functional results. As far as the patients are concerned, subjective evaluation still plays an important part in relation to relief of symptoms and disability and return to daily activities. In order to compare the results of different methods of treatment or different protocols in different centres, common quantifiable data which can correlate with the functional outcome are strongly desired. In the search for this quantification approach, the evolution of isokinetic assessment has made a significant contribution to the advancement of orthopaedic assessment and rehabilitation.
