Effect of HT-toxin on lignin content in maize seedlings

2000
The changes of lignin content were measured in the seedlings treated with HT-toxin, which was produced by Exserohilum turcicum, It was 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde. The results showed that the lignin content increased in the compatibility, especialy at 48h after treatment, but slightly changed in the incompatibility. A further study needs to be done to explain the difference of lignin content between the compatibility and the incompatibility.
